lyrics

I see a pretty face tonight, maybe we'll have a drink or two.
And if all the stars are right, maybe I'll steal a kiss or two.

I don't want to open my eyes.
I don't want the sun to rise.
I just want to be this night forever.
Forever.

Then the light cracks through my windowpane.
Reminding me you're not here.

I guess I'll try again.
Searching through flesh and skin.
Seeking out a memory from long ago.

A beauty as deep as hope.
An honesty that won't elope.
In a world of lies and questions, and questions.

I just move through the motions.
Like a tidal wave carrying life with me ready to be shared.
I ain't got the time to wait, ain't got the time to waste hanging round.
Life traps me like a spider's web filled with the tears I've shed along the way.

about

Broken Bird Call Hammond, Louisiana

Started by Troy Bennett in early 2013 as a solo venture in the vein of an acoustic project started with Daniel Bankston (The Great Phonograph Fires, Withering Light) in late 2010. All recording and mixing was done by Nick Feduccia. All instruments and arrangements done by myself except for the flugelhorn performed by Mr. Lacy Blackledge. Enjoy.
